Amitabh Bachchan’s Alibaug Investment: Megastar Buys ₹6.6 Crore Worth of Land

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has once again invested in prime real estate. According to data from real estate analytics firm CRE Matrix, the actor has purchased three new plots in Alibaug, collectively valued at ₹6.6 crore.
The properties, identified as plots 96, 97, and 98, are located in the House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL) Phase 2 project in Raigad district, Alibaug. All three were bought from HOABL Landbuild Pvt. Ltd., expanding Bachchan’s growing list of luxury properties.
Details of the Alibaug Land Deals
Among the three, Plot 96 is the largest, covering 4,047 sq ft and priced at ₹2.78 crore. Plot 97 spans 2,776 sq ft with an agreement value of ₹1.92 crore, while Plot 98, measuring 2,734 sq ft, cost ₹1.88 crore.
The transactions were officially registered on October 7, 2025, with a stamp duty of ₹39.58 lakh and a registration fee of ₹90,000, as per property records.
This marks Bachchan’s second major investment in Alibaug. In April 2024, he had acquired a 10,000 sq ft land parcel in the same region for ₹10 crore, under HoABL’s luxury project, A Alibaug, which spans 20 acres.
Alibaug has become a preferred retreat for Bollywood stars. Apart from Bachchan, Suhana Khan, Kriti Sanon, and Kartik Aaryan also own properties in the coastal town.
Amitabh Bachchan’s Expanding Property Empire
The Sholay star’s property acquisitions extend beyond Alibaug. Earlier in January 2025, Bachchan sold his duplex apartment in Andheri, Mumbai, for a staggering ₹83 crore, according to property data accessed by SquareYards.
In January 2024, he bought land in Ayodhya as part of HoABL’s luxury project The Sarayu, a 7-star mixed-use enclave near the temple area. Reports suggest he plans to build a 10,000 sq ft home there, estimated at ₹14.5 crore.
The Bachchan family continues to own several iconic homes in Mumbai, including Pratiksha, Janak, Vatsa, and Ammu. Notably, Pratiksha — their first home purchased after the success of Sholay (1975) — was gifted to their daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda in 2023.
In 2021, the actor also sold his Sopaan bungalow in Delhi’s Gulmohar Park for ₹23 crore. The property had previously belonged to his parents, Harivansh Rai and Teji Bachchan, before the family moved to Mumbai.
