Ramayana Part Two Shoot Advanced in Mumbai With Ranbir Kapoor

Filming for the second part of the ambitious mythological film Ramayana moved ahead in Mumbai as actor Ranbir Kapoor resumed work on the project. The new schedule began at Film City where the team started shooting key sequences for Ramayana Part Two, the follow up to director Nitesh Tiwari’s large scale cinematic adaptation of the ancient epic.

Sources close to the production said Kapoor began filming scenes centred on Lord Ram earlier this week while the makers prepared for a larger schedule involving several major characters from the story. The film is part of a two-part series that aims to retell the epic with large scale visuals and extensive use of modern visual effects.

Actor Sunny Deol, who plays Lord Hanuman in the film, was expected to join the shoot around March 20. His entry into the schedule would bring together some of the film’s key characters for important sequences from the latter half of the Ramayana narrative.

The film also features Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The project is being produced by Namit Malhotra along with Yash and is being mounted on a massive scale with international technicians and high end visual effects work.

The makers have been filming portions of both parts of the story across different schedules in Mumbai and other locations. The first film in the series is expected to arrive in theatres during the Diwali 2026 window while the second part will follow a year later.

With Kapoor back on set and Deol preparing to join the production, the team has begun the next phase of filming for what is expected to be one of the most expensive and ambitious mythological films produced in India.
