Ekta Kapoor vs Raaj Shaandilyaa Row Delays Bhagam Bhag 2 Start Dates

Plans to begin shooting Bhagam Bhag 2, the highly anticipated sequel starring Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee and Paresh Rawal, were put on hold just days before cameras were set to roll. The production team had scheduled a 25-day shoot starting on March 2, 2026, with locations in India and Lucknow all lined up.
But the production was suddenly shelved after a legal dispute broke out between producer Ekta Kapoor and director Raaj Shaandilyaa. Sources said Kapoor filed a breach-of-contract case against Shaandilyaa, claiming he violated a three-film agreement by taking on two outside projects without a no-objection certificate (NOC) from her production house and by not returning advance payments owed for the third film under their pact.
The legal notice was also sent to producers Ashwin Varde and Cape of Good Films, which led the makers to decide that proceeding with the March shoot was too risky. Rather than risk complications on set, they opted to cancel the immediate schedule and wait until the dispute was resolved.
As a result, the actors’ dates were released and the project was effectively put on the back burner for now. Because the principal stars have other commitments lined up from June onwards, insiders said a prolonged delay could make it difficult to restart the film without changes to the team or timeline.
Some in the industry noted that Bhagam Bhag 2 might still be revived later, possibly with a new director, once the issues between the parties are settled.
